Senior Platform Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Infrastructure Development & Support:
   • Develop and support self-provisioning capabilities across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
   • Ensure technical administration and support for newly built project platforms.
2. Cross-Team Collaboration:
   • Work with IT teams (security, networking, operations) to resolve issues and roll out new features.
   • Act as the final point of escalation for service requests and issues in production.
3. DevOps Practices & Guidelines:
   • Deliver DevOps practices for software delivery and infrastructure management.
   • Ensure operational efficiency by implementing best practices in DevOps and cloud environments.
4. Monitoring & Escalations:
   • Monitor production environments, taking ownership of escalations.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
5. Systems Development & Configuration:
   • Develop and configure infrastructure solutions to improve operational efficiency.
   • Support the implementation of small-to-medium scale systems projects and change requests.
6. Collaboration & Support:
   • Support software delivery teams by providing technical expertise and collaborating with stakeholders.
   • Assist in the development and release of new features or bug fixes.
7. Reporting & KPI Tracking:
   • Create reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for executive-level reporting.

Skills & Experience Required:

1. Educational & Professional Background:
   • BA/MS in computer science or related field.
   • 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
2. Technical Skills:
   • Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and a willingness to learn about others (GCP).
   • Familiarity with DevOps tools (CI/CD, Circle CI, GitHub Actions, Ansible, etc.).
   • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
   • Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
3. Infrastructure & System Management:
   • Good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts.
   • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
   • Experience with cloud-native infrastructure management and system administration.
4. Problem-Solving & Communication:
   • Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
   • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
5. Work Style & Execution:
   • Process-oriented with an independent, proactive approach to identifying and solving non-routine issues.
   • Ability to manage multiple tasks or complex projects with high-quality results.
