Position Overview:
The Teaching Assistant supports the academic, social, and emotional development of students. Under the guidance of the classroom teacher, the Teaching Assistant provides individualized and small-group support to students, fostering an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Occasional travel during the school year, i.e. field trips.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support:
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and activities.
- Ensure a well-organized and positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
- Prepare and organize materials and resources for daily lessons and activities.
- Student Support:
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Provide additional support to students who may need help with academic challenges or social and emotional growth.
- Monitor student progress and share observations with the classroom teacher.
- Behavioral and Emotional Guidance:
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere in the classroom.
- Assist students in developing positive interpersonal skills and managing emotions.
- Implement strategies and techniques provided by the teacher or school counselor to support students’ social-emotional development.
- Collaboration:
- Follow the direction and lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents when necessary.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Administrative Support:
- Supervise students during non-classroom activities such as recess, lunch, or school events.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a primary school setting is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Passion for working with young children and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow the lead of the classroom teacher.
- Experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, is preferred.
- A basic understanding of child development and teaching strategies.
- Knowledge of or experience with differentiated instruction techniques.
- Ability to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Flexibility, patience, and creativity in addressing students' individual challenges.
- Fluency in English (required); knowledge of French or Arabic is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively within a culturally diverse and dynamic school community.
