Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals, including logistics coordinators, warehouse staff, and transportation personnel, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Oversee all aspects of logistics operations, including inbound and outbound logistics, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation, to meet customer requirements and service level agreements.
- Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness in logistics operations.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and transportation costs, to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including sales, procurement, and customer service, to ensure alignment of logistics activities with business objectives and customer needs.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and vendors to negotiate contracts, rates, and service level agreements, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to logistics team members to develop their skills and capabilities and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Resolve logistics-related issues and challenges in a timely and effective manner, escalating complex issues to senior management as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies and procedures in all logistics activities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a strong sense of accountability and ownership among team members.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members, clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and systems, such as WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours and respond to logistics emergencies as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CLTD, CSCP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, procedures, and best practices, with knowledge of supply chain management principles and concepts.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize logistics operations.
